This piece is inspired by the concept of the Oirán and the high standards of beauty and care to which Japanese courtesans—who accompanied high-ranking officials—were held. It also draws inspiration from Kintsugi, the Japanese art of porcelain repair, in which broken vessels are restored using gold, highlighting cracks and imperfections to create a new object of even greater value.
